To Crop or Not To Crop

by cheapchica11 on March 10, 2010

Picture 1

I’m totally loving the color and the studs on this jacket, but the length not so much…

This is one of those items that I’m going to have to check out for myself in person before I give my final verdict but I am seeing more and more of this style and it definitely caught my eye!

I think the styling in the pic is throwing me off a little…if you look at the full picture on the Forever 21 site, that t-shirt is way too long and this might be one of those jackets that looks best over a dress and not with separates. Remember people…it’s all about getting the right proportions!!

So what do you think? Is this a style you’d rock or is it a pass…leave us a comment and let us know!

I’m not feeling this style and I do have to agree with you…it would look way better over a dress. I love the bracelet she is wearing, which is a nice accessory to go with a cropped jacket like this one.

Sorry, looks cheap and kinda cheesy

The jacket should not be cropped, it should be a regular tailored jacket. the color is perfect for spring and the studs give it edge… the cropped look it overdone and for this jacket not needed. The sleeves are a good length though

I don’t know. I also don’t like the length of those jackets. But I could totally imagine it with a flower print dress.

When matched with seperates it looks like a jacket that was shrunk in the wash, but paired with a cool dress looks chic. very situational.

I have to agree that the jacket should not be cropped. Although as of lately most outwear is doing the same cropping idea. Here’s the thing for hispanic women, like myself, with hips this would just shorten my torso making me look ackward, and short!

So i would pass on the outfit, but the color and studs are a good combo !

Meh – maybe over a cute little sundress. But here’s my problem with that – by the time I’m sporting sundresses, it’s too hot for ANYTHING over them! I love the studs though.

I like the look. Finding t-shirts that are the right length to compliment the jacket is easy. So many of them(t-shirts) aren’t long enough, but for this look, no problem.

i think i would rock it if i was pregnant, over a cute dress, and with boots, right now, but i’m not pregnant, so i think i’ll pass.

I agree with you here. Not so fond of the length. I think the studs with the puffy sleeves AND the bright color make it a bit too 80’s. I would prefer it without the studs and cut right above hip length. That would give it a cuter, more preppy edge.

I think it would be good with some fitted dark jeans and a top that hits at the waist not beyond. It. The color of the jacket is fun and i like the studded detailing.

I love this jacket with a cute spring dress and some tough shoes! I agree with you that it’s not right over a long shirt. I can see it with the right skin tight rocker jeans and a skinny rib wife-beater style tank also.

I’m with you, I like the color/studs but am totally not into the cut. Cropped pieces are definitely not fool proof…if not paired with the absolutely perfectly cut pieces you can end up looking like an Easter Egg.

I’d pass on this.
