Surfer Chic at Tillys.com

by cheapchica11 on May 14, 2010

One of my new favorite online shopping websites for summer-chic clothing is Tillys.com.

They have a fun selection of feminine, surf-inspired clothing and accessories from brands like Billabong, Volcom, Roxy, Full Tilt, and Hurley that will keep you looking Cali-cool all Summer long!

It’s important to add a little diversity to your wardrobe and I find that Tillys hits the spot when I’m bored of the same old looks and trends…best of all are their fabulous sales!

Every time I stop in, there’s always a plentiful sale section and if you prefer to do your shopping online, you can take advantage of their FREE SHIPPING offers!

With summer on the way, colorful dresses and printed rompers are a great way to go from day to night by adding layers and accessories and Tilly’s has all the fashionable goods to satisfy your cravings and get that surfer girl style we all love!

…to your local Old Navy store.  Everything, and we mean everything is 30% off retail and sale prices.

Whether you’re looking to stock up on basics, jeans or even their adorable swimwear–which I just featured in my Lucky guest post–is on sale.

For example, these adorable satin pocket tees are only $8.00 but on sale you can now afford to buy them in every color (they come in 12 shades) because they’re marked down to $5.60!! Ditto for their newly added rompers which I must own for my upcoming trip to Miami…$25 is too pricey but  at $17.50 they’re a must buy!

This event is only happening in-store, today and tomorrow.  For a list of Old Navy locations near you, click here.

Introducing ThreadSence.com + FREE clothes

by cheapchica11 on January 28, 2010

CONGRATS to Jennifer Prentice…she’s the lucky reader who won this fabulous giveaway!!

The genius team behind ShopRuche.com has done it again…

23

they just launched their newest online store at ThreadSence.com. Just like Ruche, their inventory is full of adorable, affordable selections, but these clothes have more of an edgy, contemporary feel than the vintage-inspired looks that you’ve come to expect from Ruche.

Picture 1They’re also doing their part to help new and up-and-coming designers which I love and totally support!

Their indie limelight section feature small, lesser-known independent designers–including one of my fave ETSY brands, LAMIXX.

One of the (many) things that sets Ruche and now ThreadSence apart from other online stores are their beautiful lookbooks which I look forward to seeing eash season.  It’s a great place to get styling tips and ideas on how to wear the clothes!

To help celebrate their grand opening, we’re partnering up for a fabulous give-a-way of one of their featured looks!

To enter to win the knotted chain tank and black skirt pictured here, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post letting me know your favorite item at ThreadSence.com and one very lucky reader, will win both items!

BTW, if the shopping bug bites you while you’re browsing their site, use code “CHEAPCHICAS” to save 10% off your order now through February.  Good Luck!

NOTE: This contest is only open to US residents and ends on 2/3.  The winner will be notified via email.

“T” is for T-Shirt

by cheapchica11 on November 19, 2009

Picture 2We always consider a ” t-shirt” something that’s not so fashionable, but trust me, it can be! You just have to know how to wear it and what to wear it with.

Weather it’s jeans, leggings, shorts or a skirt– a “t-shirt” will always look right. That is, if you accessorize it in a fashion forward way. There are so many tee’s out there that aren’t just your basic Hanes. Stores like Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, American Eagle and Delia’s have amazing options in the t-shirt department.

Instead of choosing a t-shirt that’s completely plain opt for something that has a print, sequins or a graphic element to it. This will create a look that’s fashion forward and comfy at the same time. And remember… you don’t have to pair everything with a blouse… a tee can be just as cute if not cuter and adding a chunky necklace, bangles or even a boyfriend blazer is an easy way to give your tee some high style.

As you all know, I love nothing more than a great buy, but what makes a great buy even better is when I can pair it with multiple things in my closest to create even more looks…it works something like that exponent thing they taught you in High School but applied to something much more fun that Math…CLOTHES!!

I just picked up this adorable yellow skirt at F21 for only $13.80 because I know I can pair it with several tops I already own!  It’s bright color makes it the perfect foundation from which to build the rest of your outfit from and it’s simple enough to let you have some fun with the rest of your ensemble!

Cheap Chica’s Shopping Tip

by cheapchica11 on November 4, 2008

Every Tuesday, I’ll be posting a new tip to help you on your quest to saving money while still looking chic and not sacrificing one ounce of style!

Tip for 11/04/08: Don’t spend money on basics or trend items!

The world of fashion is constantly changing and by the time you’re out buying the next big thing, French Vogue has already added it to it’s OUT list, so breaking the bank on something like this is a no-no.  Shop for basics at Old Navy or Target and look for those trendier items that you need to feel fashionably chic at H&M or Forever 21.  In most cases, you’ll find them for under $30!

CheapChica Shopping Tip

by cheapchica11 on October 28, 2008

Every Tuesday, I’ll be posting a new tip to help you on your quest to saving money while still looking chic and not sacraficing one ounce of style!

Tip for 10/28/08: If you are going to splurge, invest only in a great ____!

The only items that are allowed to go here are: handbag, shoes, coat or a “multiple”.  A multiple is something you can wear many many times and can therefore amortize the cost over a long period of time. For example, a Mike&Chris leather jacket that you will own for a lifetime.  Having a nice ____ instantly ups the status of your whole outfit and makes jeans and a t-shirt (or anything you bought at Forever 21) look like a million dollars.

CheapChica Shopping Tip

by cheapchica11 on October 21, 2008

Every Tuesday, I’ll be posting a new tip to help you on your quest to saving money while still looking chic and not sacraficing one ounce of style!

Tip for 10/21/08:  Make a shopping list before you go and stick to it!

Approach this as if you were going to the grocery store for your weekly shopping trip…you’d look up some recipies, take note of what you already have, make a list of all the ingredients your missing and only shop for those.

Starty by looking at magazines and find pictures of the look you’re trying to achieve.  This will not only help you get inspired, but it will also open your eyes to new trends and new ways of putting clothes together.  Next, write down the looks you want and list out all of their components…shoes, accessories, etc.  Check your closet to see what you already own that could also work for this look and be creative…just because the outfit calls for a V-neck doesn’t mean a crew neck won’t work.   Once you take inventory, write down a list of items to purchase and then commit to buying only those things.

Lastly, DO NOT SHOP ON CREDIT CARDS!!  If you don’t have the cash to buy it, they you can’t have it.  Period.  Please also watch Suze Orman and pay attention this time!
